NOTE:  For tracks with higher difficulty which need mountain equipment for rock climbing, this is ensured by the mountain guide and is included in price of the tour: helmet, harness, rope, carabiniere, rucsac de tura, rain cover, trekking sticks, ice axe, etc.

  • BUSTENI – BRANA AERIANA –
    CREASTA VAII ALBE

TOUR: One of the most spectacular tours of the Costila alpine area, which offers an impressive perspective over the wall of White Valley and of Policandrului wall. The tour goes for the beggining in the forest area of Munticelului, to get to Valcelul Policandrului, which follows up to Brana Aeriana. After passing it, the exit is in White Valley Ridge, which goes to Brana Mare a Costilei, near Hornului lui Gelepeanu. This is the exit way on plateau, following mountain descent on White Valley or Jepilor Valley. Likewise it can be followed Brana Mare a Costilei towards Cerbului Valley.

  • BUSTENI – HORNUL COAMEI

• Hornul Coamei is one of the most spectacular routes with small dificulty level (1B), that goes on the spectacular abrupt area of Galbenele Valley. The tour begins in Busteni, Caminul Alpin, goes through the forest area of Munticelul, exiting in the alpine area at Costila shelter. From here it is followed the Costila Valley, after which is traversed to area Galbinele Valley. Following one afer the other the second route and main route of the valley having on the left hand the view of the norther wall of Galbinele, you arrive at the bottom of the Coama Horn. Its climb is spectacular and aerial, followed by series of jumps and rocky steps, closing in the Brana Mare of Costila. Descent can be done on White Valley Ridge – Brana Aeriana, on White Valley or on Jepii Mici route.

  • BUSTENI – WHITE VALLEY – CARAIMAN CROSS – BUSTENI

Route Busteni – White Valley – Caraiman Cross and return to Busteni it is a route that is under alpine routes category, having an easy difficulty level. It can be considered an initiation route, that can make the transit from easy touristic routes to alpine ones. Its climb is pretty spectacular, going up directly on White Valley and exiting in the plateau area that separates Caraiman Cross to Costila Peak. From here you shortly arrive at Caraiman Cross, where you continue the route to Caraiman Hut, and then the descent on Jepi Valley.

  • BUSTENI – PICHETUL ROSU –
    BUCSOIU VALLEY – OMU PEAK

The route, having a medium difficulty level but having pretty abrupt altitude level, it ties Busteni town to Omu Peak after very spectacular tour. Going from Busteni you go to Gura Diham Hut, afterwards, after 1 hour you reach Poiana Izvoarelor Hut. From here it is followed the marked path to Malaiesti Hut up to Poiana Bucsoiului. From here you leave the touristic path, taking to the left the valley path. Having on the right hand side Bucsoiul Mare Ridge, and on the left Bucsoiul Mic (The Dragon), the route follows the valley, the medium part being the toughest but with no major problems. After going through some grassy slopes, you exit in the ridge, from where you either go down on Dragon Ridge (not marked route – 1A), either on Bucsoiul Ridge, up to Omu Peak and from there you descent to Busteni through either Cerbul Valley, either Morarul Valley. Also, you can continue the Bucsoiu Ridge, taking back the route to Poiana Izvoarelor Hut – Gura Diham Hut and you get again to Busteni town.

  • BUSTENI – COSTILA SHELTER –
    COSTILA VALLEY – COSTILA PEAK

The route goes through the valley with the same name, which sets apart the Costila wall on one side and on the other side the Eagles Wall-White Valley Ridge. This route starts from Busteni, Caminul Alpin area, and climbs through the forest up to Costila shelter (approximatelly 1 and half hours). From here the route goes to the Costila Valley, in a successions of rocky steps and jumps. Exit in Brana Mare of Costila it is done through the grassy places underneath the plateau edge. From Brana Mare you follow Gelepeanu’s Horn, which goes to Costila Peak. The descent can be done either on White Valley (the shortest route), Jepilor Valley or on a more spectacular variant, but more difficult, that is White Valley Ridge-Brana Aeriana.

  • BUSTENI – GURA DIHAM –
    MORARUL VALLEY – OMU PEAK

It is a route of low difficulty but pretty hard from effort point of view – it makes the connection between Busteni town and the highest peak of Bucegi mountains- Omu Peak (2505 meters). Living from Busteni, you go on a forest road up to Gura Diham hut (982 meters), where it starts the climb through forest, up to the hunting hut  “Coltii Morarului”. Shortly you enter the valley, in Poiana Morarului, place from where we have one of the best view of Coltii Morarului and over abrupt valleys that get down from them: Adanca Valley and Rapa Zapezii. From this point it starts the climb of the valley. The track goes on bumpy areas or on wide glacier teraces, winding between Morarul Ridge on one side and Balaurul Ridge on the other side, having its end at the hut from Omu Peak. The descent can be done on Cerbul Valley (approximatelly 4 hours up to Busteni) or on any other track leaving from Babele area.

  • BUSTENI – SEACA VALLEY OF CARAIMAN – CARAIMAN CROSS

It is a difficult route, having a big altitude level, various obstacles and lots of hiking steps, on the area of the big jumps. The route  starts in Busteni, from the area of Kalinderu ski slope and goes through the Seaca Valley up to Caraiman Cross. Because the upper part is more difficult, you can exit to the Cross through Zangur Valley or Valcelul Mortului. Likewise, from Zangur Valley you can exit to Braul Portitei and down the Jepi Valley. The descent can be done on Jepi Valley.

• Difficulty level: 1B • Altitude difference: approximatelly 1500 meters • Estimated time: climb: approximatelly 5 hours, descent approximatelly 3 hours. • Minimum equipment needed: boots with Vibram, ankle protection; backpack; light gear for trips; wind/rain coat; helmet; sun glasses.

  • MALINUL VALLEY

The route goes an alpine ridge from Costila area, having a medium difficulty level, the climb ending near Costila relay. The route starts from Caminul Alpin – Busteni, climbing the forest climbs of Plaiul Munticelu. Once arrived at Poiana Costila you enter Malinul Valley, after a steep climb through the forest and a stepp descent in the valley. You continue the descent on the valley going up a series of rocky jumps, going through a canion type area, up to the exit of Brana Mare of Costila. The descent can be done either on White Valley Ridge, on White Valley or on Jepi Valley.
